About
Mentors For Williams County (MWC) is a nonprofit agency providing mentors for the youth in Williams County. Our goal is to promote the growth and development of young people that will reassert a sense of hope in their future. Through formed partnerships with local school districts, community agencies and the juvenile court system we are able to identify youth who would benefit from our program.

Mentors For Williams County was created in direct response to the growing number of young people that are falling through the cracks at school, are already entangled with the juvenile court system or could benefit from a positive role model.
MWC aims to encourage the youth to make better decisions and avoid the pitfalls that can derail their lives. The focus is slightly different at each age, but the goal remains the same; inspire our youth to make positive changes in his/her life and end the repeating pattern of harmful or otherwise negative behavior.

Our Story
Mentors For Williams County, was founded in 2020 in Bryan, OH by a group that was originally brought together by Leadership of Williams County, a 9 month course offered by the Bryan Chamber to develop future leaders. During the course we were asked to identify a particular issue, opportunity or problem crucial to the Williams County area and how we would address this issue or solve the problem.
Almost immediately there was a common belief that many of the youth in Williams County could benefit from additional guidance and support. Determined to make a difference, 7 of us set off to create an Executive Team with a few board members and begin laying the foundation of Mentors For Williams County. With an initial financial investment from a community member and local business, we were able to establish Mentors For Williams County as a nonprofit IRS 501(c)3 corporation.
Since the idea came about MWC has forged strong partnerships with the local business community, school districts, and other youth-serving organizations. The Executive Team and their board continue to carry out the Mentors For Williams County vision and expand the scope of program services.
